Only the cookies we need

Cookies are small files that a website saves on your phone, tablet or computer. Some are needed to make a website work, for example to keep a payment secure. Others track what you do online.

The law also covers similar technologies, such as information a website saves in your browser’s storage. On this page, “cookies” means all of these.

Our website does not set any cookies of its own for visitors, and it does not save anything in your browser’s storage. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.

Cookies may only be set by one trusted service, and only when you use it:

• Donating by card

When card donations are switched on, our Donate page uses Stripe’s secure payment form. When you open it, Stripe may set its own cookies to keep the payment secure and to help prevent fraud. They are not used anywhere else on our website.

Our spam protection does not use cookies: it counts forms by internet connection on our server, for up to an hour (see our Privacy Notice).

The law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, PECR) says a website must ask before setting cookies, unless they are strictly necessary for a service you have asked for.

Every cookie described above is strictly necessary: it keeps a payment you asked to make secure and helps prevent fraud. So we do not need to ask, and we do not show a cookie banner.

You can block or delete cookies in your web browser’s settings. Look for “Privacy” or “Cookies” in the settings menu.

If you block all cookies, card donations may not work. The rest of our website will work as normal, and you can still call or email us about other ways to give.

To learn more about cookies, visit the ICO’s cookies page.

To find out how we use personal information, read our Privacy Notice.
